Capitol Federal's 120th Year of True Blue® Service
NEWS RELEASE
TOPEKA, Kan. – Capitol Federal® and its employees adopted more than 100 families for Christmas this year through the United Way of Greater Topeka’s Christmas Bureau program. Combining employee contributions and a grant from the Capitol Federal® Foundation, Capitol Federal raised $14,391.23 to benefit the Christmas Bureau in Topeka. Led by Kelli Nicks, Debra Shore and Clint Schrenk, and joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus, employees purchased and wrapped gifts for families throughout Topeka, delivering them with Christmas cheer.
Employees in Lawrence, Manhattan and Salina raised funds and delivered gifts to area families through a local church in Manhattan, the Angel Tree with Head Start Children’s Center and the Ballard Center, Lawrence, and the Angel Tree with The Salvation Army, Salina.
“Capitol Federal and its employees truly cherish the opportunity each year to adopt families as a part of their Christmas tradition,” remarked Capitol Federal Chairman John B. Dicus. “Raising funds, purchasing and wrapping the gifts and delivering them mark a joyous time at the bank. We are proud to work with United Way and other local agencies. Working together for others is what community is all about. All of us at Capitol Federal are excited to share the spirit of giving with families during this special season.”
