Overdrafts

New overdraft regulations regarding debit card transactions will determine how Capitol Federal handles overdraft transactions for your True Blue® Direct VISA® debit card.  The new rules are effective August 15, 2010 for accounts opened prior to July 1, 2010 and for new accounts as of the account opening date on/or after July 1, 2010.

Now, with these new regulations, you make the decision regarding how Capitol Federal services your debit card transactions.   You will need to determine if you want to "opt-in", allowing us permission to apply overdraft services to the use of your debit card.

By selecting "opt-in," Capitol Federal will review overdraft transactions, pay the transaction and then charge a fee for the service.  Should you decide not to "opt-in", debit card overdraft transactions will be declined and no fee will be charged.

In order to make the best decision for your account, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions page, or discuss your options with a Capitol Federal representative at 1-888-8CAPFED.
