In the spirit of the giving season, Capitol Federal drew the Salina winner of its “Grand Giving” contest. This contest awards seven lucky individuals, one from each of CapFed’s communities, with $1,000 and the opportunity to ‘pay-it-forward’ with an additional $1,000 awarded to the local non-profit of their choice.
The Salina winner was Mark Lantz. The charity Mark chose to give $1,000 was the Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank. “It feels awesome to have been selected in the drawing and it feels equally awesome to share it with an organization like the Emergency Aid Food Bank,” said Mark. “This organization reaches out and assists so many that are less fortunate in our community.”
Kathy Jackson, Executive Director of the Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank, expressed her gratitude to Mark and CapFed®. "Thank you for this great check. The Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank is a not-for-profit agency that helps in the prevention of homelessness. We feed the hungry, teach adults and children how to cook healthy and nutritious meals and we have a garden with produce for our clients. Thank you for choosing us and helping the hungry in Salina.”
