Deposit Account and Branch Info

Please continue to use your previous bank’s branches.  Branch hours will remain the same.  The process to combine our systems and operations is expected to occur in early 2019, at which time you will be able to utilize the entire Capitol Federal® and former Capital City Bank branch network. 

Other key items to keep in mind for former Capital City Bank customers:

  • Your account numbers will remain the same
  • Your Direct Deposit will remain the same
  • Your checks remain valid, even with the Capital City Bank logo and routing number
  • Your debit cards and ATM PINs will remain the same
  • Continue to use your same Online Banking credentials
  • Cashier’s checks and money orders issued prior to 9/1/18 remain valid
  • All Capital City Bank phone numbers will remain the same. Continue to use 785.274.5680 or 1.888.267.8420 for automated telephone banking

Effective September 1, 2018, all ATMs associated with Capitol Federal and Capital City will be surcharge-free for all customers.  This includes the Capitol Federal Walgreens ATM network. Please note that while Capitol Federal ATM’s accept deposits, former Capital City Bank customers will not be able to utilize the ATM deposit feature on the Capitol Federal ATM’s until after system conversion.

Former Capital City branches will continue to offer their existing deposit products, with a few exceptions.  Effective September 1, 2018, former Capital City branches will no longer open any of the following account types:

  • SuperSaver Savings
  • Investors Choice Money Market
  • 14-day CD
  • 18-month CD
  • 18-month variable rate IRA

Starting September 1, 2018 all Money Market and CD rates will be the same at former Capital City Bank and Capitol Federal locations. If you hold an existing CD from Capital City Bank, your rate will stay the same until the CD renews. It will renew to the rate in effect on the renewal date.

Funds availability policy and current fee schedule for former Capital City Bank account holders will remain the same.  Funds availability policies and fee schedules will be aligned at system conversion.

Former Capital City Bank locations will no longer sell or reload prepaid cards after August 31st. Capital City reloadable, travel and youth card customers will be able to reload existing cards via Western Union, Green Dot and MoneyGram locations. You may also use direct deposit or MetaWallet mobile app mobile deposit. New reloadable cards, True Blue® Money cards, will be available for purchase at Capitol Federal locations.


Mortgage and consumer loan info

For Loan Payments on existing Capital City Bank Loans:

  • Cash or Check Payments made at former Capital City Bank branches will be posted immediately.
  • Payments made via Capital City Online Banking will be posted immediately.
For Loan Payments at Capitol Federal Branches:
  • Payments by check will be accepted, but will not be posted until the following business day.
