Capitol Federal® Donates $20,000 to Maize Education Foundation at Branch Ribbon Cutting Celebration

June 27, 2018

TOPEKA, Kan. – During Capitol Federal’s ribbon cutting ceremony, held Wednesday, June 27, for its 48th office, 9th in the greater Wichita area, at 3450 N Maize Road, the Capitol Federal Foundation® presented a large replica check of $20,000 to the Maize Education Foundation.  Travis Bloom, Executive Director of the Maize Education Foundation, accepted the check from Capitol Federal’s Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus.

CEO Dicus stated, “Capitol Federal® is pleased to provide this gift to the Maize Education Foundation in recognition of Capitol Federal’s newest True Blue® location.  Financial literacy is an important principle for students to learn early in school, and this gift will make a positive and lasting impact on students now and as they mature.  As a part of the Maize and Wichita community, CapFed® is happy to extend this gift to the Maize Education Foundation to develop and implement a new Financial Literacy program.  The new program will provide students with an excellent introduction to financial responsibility, furthering the development of an even stronger Maize community.”

Bloom remarked, “With this Capitol Federal grant, the Maize Education Foundation will be able to support the district in developing new curricula and programs throughout the district that will help our students learn these important skills.  Funds will help to purchase curriculum resources for our teachers as well as provide substitute grants, allowing our full-time teachers days outside of the classroom to collaborate and develop course structures and materials.”
