Capitol Federal® Presents Henry A. Bubb Distinguished Service Award

May 1, 2019

Capitol Federal® Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus announced Executive Vice President – General Counsel Natalie G. Haag as the 2018 recipient of the Bank’s highest recognition, the Henry A. Bubb Distinguished Service Award. This award, named in honor of Capitol Federal’s longtime Chairman, is presented annually to an employee or officer who demonstrates the leadership qualities of the late Mr. Bubb.

Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus noted, “Natalie is a trusted and valued member of the Capitol Federal family.  As a strong team player and excellent decision maker, she was an integral part of the merger between Capital City Bank and Capitol Federal.  Natalie has balanced raising a family, and staying active in the community, with her professional career and personal achievements.  We are proud she was named a member of Ingram’s 2013 Class of Women Executives, a 50 Kansans You Should Know and a 2016 YWCA Woman of Excellence.   Her positive attitude, leadership abilities and willingness to help others reflect the Bank’s high standards of strength, stability and security.”

An important requirement to earning the prestigious Henry A. Bubb Award is community volunteerism. Haag’s insight into the law, joined with her creativity and leadership, has been an asset to the Topeka community, as well as the State of Kansas.  For almost 30 years, Haag has provided pro bono legal service to victims of domestic violence, and her work advocating for the protection of victims continues today.  She has served on the Board of the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, as President of the Kansas Bar Association, as the 2nd Congressional District’s elected representative to the Supreme Court Nomination Commission and on Governor Laura Kelly’s transition team.  Through leadership roles with the Topeka Swim Association, the Missouri Valley Swimming LSC and 4-H, Natalie is impacting the lives of future leaders.  In addition, she has helped with the Capitol Federal employee fundraising campaigns, donating volunteer hours to local nonprofit organizations in the area.

The Capitol Federal® Board, executive management and all employees congratulate Natalie on a job well done. Henry Bubb would be honored Natalie G. Haag has been selected as the recipient of this award.
