Originally from New Hampshire, Ray LaMontagne had been working in a shoe factory in Maine when he took a chance on a music career. In September 2004, LaMontagne released his debut album, Trouble. It marked a Gold-certified start to what has become a fiercely ambitious, Grammy Award®-winning, critically praised career that’s encompassed four more albums, several EPs and many soundtrack compilations. The 2010 release of God Willin' and the Creek Don't Rise, which highlighted the artist’s trademark sweet but raspy voice won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
