Chairman's Desk, March 2016

With the days getting longer and temperatures climbing, it is a sure sign that spring is just around the corner. Spring brings new beginnings and a rejuvenation after the winter months. Just like Mother Nature, Capitol Federal® is excited to bring about positive change with several construction projects at our branches.

We are pleased to announce construction is complete at our Santa Fe Branch – 9001 Santa Fe Drive in Overland Park. Truly a branch built for the future, the modern Santa Fe Branch includes an open floor plan featuring dedicated service areas, easy branch access from 87th Street and Santa Fe Drive, plus two convenient drive-thru lanes and a drive-up ATM. With floor-to-ceiling windows and a smaller footprint, the eco-friendly design is contemporary and innovative. I invite you to see for yourself at the grand re-opening, March 25-31.

Our Nall Hills office continues its renovation project, and is on schedule. With an updated exterior and modern interior, the Nall Hills branch, located at 9500 Nall in Overland Park, KS, is the hub for Capitol Federal in the Kansas City area. The branch remains open for customers throughout the project and it is projected to be completed later this year.

Other positive changes are happening as well. On the University of Kansas campus, Capitol Federal Hall is nearing completion. It will be the new home for the KU School of Business, opening this summer to students. The roughly 166,000-square-foot building will be four stories high and constructed in a “K” shape. Partially funded by a $20 million dollar donation from Capitol Federal® Foundation, Capitol Federal Hall is dedicated to all those who wish to learn and succeed in business.

There is an additional branch renovation I am proud to announce. Our 21st & Fairlawn Branch in Topeka will undergo a complete remodel. Construction will begin in the coming weeks, but because of the size and scope of this project, there will be some disruptions to branch business. More information will be shared on capfed.com, social media and in our summer edition of True Blue® Print, including design plans and construction updates.

Spring is genuinely a time of transformation at Capitol Federal. Our branch renovations and remodels confirm our commitment to being a Bank built for the future. We are proud to bring you these positive changes to help simplify your banking experience and streamline your banking needs. Watch for more announcements about the grand re-openings later this year.

If you are willing to spend thousands on advertising to attract NEW customers, why wouldn't you spend $25.00 to save a 21 year customer?
