The Bank's Birthday is on September 16th and will mark CapFed's 124th year of True Blue® service. A birthday is an achievement that reminds us of the significance of family and the importance of having a dream. Every realization starts with the decision to try.

In 1893, 15 men made the decision to establish a financial institution based on four core principles: Safety in Savings, Sound Lending Policies, Quality Customer Service and Commitment to Community. These traditions have stood the test of time and still influence the way Capitol Federal® does business today. Because we have stood by our beliefs, supported the communities in which we serve, and helped customers achieve their financial goals, CapFed® was voted a Best Bank in many local newspapers.

The Manhattan Mercury, Lawrence Journal-World and Topeka Capital-Journal all recently held "best of" contests in which community members vote on what are the best things in their city. Capitol Federal is proud to have been named a Best Bank in each of those publications. CapFed also was named the Best in Business in the Wichita Business Journal. It takes our dedicated CapFed employees to achieve this accomplishment, but it also takes your belief in us. Thank you for trusting Capitol Federal and allowing us to be your bank throughout life. From joining the Blue Bucks Kids' Club or opening that first checking account, all the way to your first home mortgage and planning for retirement, CapFed is here to help guide you with sound financial management so you can focus on what's important: friends, family and experiencing life to the fullest.

This autumn, we are excited to share more accomplishments with you. Our 95th and Nall branch in Kansas City will have its grand re-opening in early October and construction continues on our Fairlawn Branch in Topeka. Also, watch for news on our Grand Giving campaign this fall, with the opportunity to win $1,000 for you, plus the opportunity to pay-it-forward with a $1,000 donation to your favorite local non-profit. For more information on these events, and other entertaining things to do in your area, be sure to visit Capitol Federal's easy to use calendar of events. Filled with fun activities, concerts and festivals, the CapFed Community Calendar has new experiences for everyone.
