Online Bill Payment Info and New Process

Important Bill Payment Information

Online Bill Payment Users: After conversion on August 27, Bill Payment processing changes will affect the timing of debits from your accounts:

•  PREVIOUS ONLINE BILL PAYMENT (prior to 8/27/18):
Payments were debited from your account on, or after, the due date you set for your payment. This leaves you sometimes wondering when the funds may come out of your account because you are waiting for the biller to cash your payment.

•  NEW ONLINE BILL PAYMENT (after 8/27/18):
Under the new model, payments will be debited on the day you select. This will be 2-4 days prior to the delivery date. This gives you more control on when the funds are debited from your account. You will know when the money is set to come out of your account.

NOTE: If you have pending payments to be paid after August 27, 2018, see below. This is only for future payments which carried over from the old system to the new TBO. After August 27, the day you choose to pay will be the debit date, giving you greater control of when your money is debited from your account.

At the time of the upgrade to the new Bill Payment system, any recurring or pending payment will shift from the current funding model to the new model which will result in payments debiting your account sooner than you are accustomed to. Typically, national merchants (electronic payees) will shift forward two days and local payees (check payees) will shift forward four days. We want to make sure you are aware of the date changes.

Here is a sample of how pending payments, which are currently scheduled past August 27, would pay under our current payment model versus the new payment model.

Payee Name Current Pay Date New Pay Date (Debit Date) Method
AT&T September 19, 2018 September 17, 2018 Electronic
Jim's Lawn Care September 19, 2018 September 15, 2018 Check

eBill Users (An eBill is an electronic version of a bill or statement – from companies like Verizon Wireless or Lowe’s. The eBill typically contains the same info as a paper bill or statement.):
eBills did NOT carry over to the new TBO.  You will need to re-establish this service.

Not sure if you had an eBill?  An eBill arrives from a biller into your online Bill Payment service the same way a paper bill arrives from a biller into your mailbox. This service is usually available from national retailers. If you use eBills in True Blue Online®, you would receive copies of your statements from various billers within online banking.
