Eligibility and Rules

Must be 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in their state of residence as of 8/1/2024 to qualify to win and a legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia at the time of entry. (“Eligible Participant”) Sweepstakes begins Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 12:00 AM CST and ends at 11:59 pm CST on Monday, September 30, 2024 (“Sweepstakes Period”). Employees, officers and directors of Capitol Federal®, their subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies and their immediate families are not eligible to enter or win the prize. Entries are void if they are in whole or in part illegible or incomplete.   Need not be present to win.  No purchase necessary.  Void where prohibited by law.

  

 

How to Enter

Use a True Blue® Debit Card:  Eligible Participants may enter the Sweepstakes by using any True Blue® Capitol Federal® Visa Debit Card starting with 442521 (“Capitol Federal Debit Card”) to engage in the following actions during the Sweepstakes Period:

  • Automatically receive one (1) Sweepstakes entry for adding a Capitol Federal Debit Card to Apple Pay®.
  • Automatically receive one (1) Sweepstakes entry for each Eligible Purchase made with a Capitol Federal Debit Card during the Sweepstakes Period.
    • An Eligible Purchase includes any purchase made using the Capitol Federal Debit Card, including pin-based, signature based, in-person and on-line purchase, bill payment and recurring subscription. Only purchases processed and settled through Visa Inc.'s transaction-processing system during the Sweepstakes Period, are eligible for automatic entry.
  • Certain restrictions  apply: The following are not an Eligible Purchase:
    • Account adjustment transactions/returns, late payment fees, overdraft fees, return check fees, check reorder fees, ATM fees, cash advances, balance transfers, person-to-person payments and/or other fees assessed on your account are not eligible for automatic Sweepstakes entry.
    • Entries from unauthorized card use or those made with lost, stolen, or fraudulent cards are void and are not eligible for Sweepstakes entry.

There is no limit to the number of entries per person, as long as each entry is earned through an Eligible Purchase and processed by Visa Inc. during the Sweepstakes Period.

To Enter by Mail Without Purchase or Obligation: Hand-print your complete name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, daytime and evening telephone numbers (including area code), and a valid email address on plain 3" x 5" paper, and mail it in a #10 envelope with sufficient postage affixed, to: Capitol Federal Savings Bank, Endless Summer Debit Sweepstakes, 700 S Kansas Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66603. Mailed entries must be postmarked by 9/30/24 and received by 10/10/24. Enter as often as you wish; but each mailed entry must be mailed in a separate postmarked-and-stamped envelope. Mechanical reproductions prohibited. Proof of mailing does not constitute proof of delivery.

Opt-Out Process

Entrants who use their debit card during the Sweepstakes Period, but would like to opt-out of the Sweepstakes, send an email to reply@capfed.com with the opt-out request by September 30, 2024. Include “Opt-Out Request” in the subject line and the name and physical home address associated with your account in your email request. You will be opted out of the prize drawing for all of your Capitol Federal accounts by sending one email request.  Any co-owner on the account must opt out separately.

Information collected from the entrants is subject to Capitol Federal’s consumer privacy policy. 

  

Limitations of Liability

The Bank is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the sweepstakes or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions. The Bank assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, actions or inactions, communications line failure, theft or destruction or authorized access to, or alteration of, entries or the merchant’s mis-categorizing a purchase, or the failure of the merchant, card processing agents, financial institutions or Visa, Inc to process the debit card transaction within the Sweepstakes Period. The Bank is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, merchants’ website, payment processors,  or at any site or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the sweepstakes. The Bank is not responsible for any typographical or other errors in connection with the sweepstakes. If, for any reason, the sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Bank, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the sweepstakes, the Bank reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes.

 

The Bank is not responsible for any tax liability associated with winning a prize.

 

 

 

Prizes

Ten (10) winners will each receive a $10,000 cash prize, awarded in the form of a check. (Valued at $10,000).  Odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries.

 

Prize cannot be redeemed for cash, substituted or transferred.  Sweepstakes void where prohibited, licensed, restricted or taxed (other than income tax related to the awarding of this  prize  and payable by the award recipient).  If any provision of this sweepstakes shall be deemed to violate any federal, state or municipal law, it shall be amended to conform to such law and all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  Other restrictions may apply. 

 

 

Winner Selection

Winners will be selected by a random drawing following the Sweepstakes Period from all eligible entries, on or about, October 15, 2024, after 8:00 am CST.  In the event the winners selected are based on an eligible debit card transaction entry, the prize will be awarded to the primary account holder associated with the debit card (as determined by Capitol Federal’s account records).  Winners will be notified by phone after October 16, 2024.  Winners must respond to Capitol Federal, provide a certification of eligibility, provide a completed W-9 tax form, and take possession of their prize within two (2) weeks, or by October 29, 2024, or the prize is forfeited and a new name will be drawn.  Capitol Federal cannot be held responsible for any form of liability in association with prize redemption or any activity related thereto. Odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries. The value associated with the prize is taxable as income and the winner is solely responsible for any taxes or additional expenses associated with the awarded prize.  Capitol Federal must report the value of the prize to the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) in the year in which the prize is received by the winner and will report to the winner and the IRS in the form of a Form 1099.  For the names of the winners (available after November 1, 2024, until December 31, 2024), send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Capitol Federal, Marketing Department, 700 S. Kansas Ave, Topeka KS 66603.

 

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Capitol Federal®, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Capitol Federal reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the entrant fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated in these Official Rules.

 

Publicity

Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes the winner’s consent to Capitol Federal’s and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions, and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
