TOPEKA, KS—The Shawnee County Board of Commissioners recognized Capitol Federal® as the “Title Sponsor” of the 2024 Spirit of Kansas fireworks display during a check presentation ceremony at the May 2, 2024 Board of County Commission meeting.
Capitol Federal Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus and Capitol Federal Foundation® President Tammy Dishman presented the $25,000 check to Shawnee County Commissioners Bill Riphahn, Kevin Cook and Aaron Mays, along with Shawnee County Parks + Recreation staff.
This is the 22nd year Capitol Federal has sponsored the Spirit of Kansas fireworks display. In 2002, the event was in jeopardy due to lack of funds. CapFed® proudly helped ensure this long-time tradition continued and has remained the Title Sponsor since then.
